Continue westbound on Highway 43 -->
Highway 43 heads south towards town along 100 Street.
Just ahead Highway 43 veers to the right to leave 100 Street and bypass the city centre.
Now looking west on 116 Ave. after turning the corner.
The overhead sign points to Highway 43 with "Alaska" as the control point.
1 km later the roadway gently turns to the south.
Intersection with 106 Street.

Crossing the Bear River.
Intersection with 107 Ave. To the left is Grande Prairie Regional College and to the right is the Gateway Power Centre.
Shopping centre access. This big box style power centre is a draw for shoppers from all over the Peace Region in Alberta and B.C.
Junction with Highway 40 and 100 Ave. Highway 43 turns right to head west and Highway 40 begins straight ahead.
Once again Alaska is the control point for Highway 43 westbound.
Turning right to head west towards British Columbia.
Now on 100 Ave heading west. The shopping centre is still visible on the right.
